An experimental Bromley side were dumped out of the London Senior Cup at the first time of asking by their tenants at a sparsely populated Hayes Lane on Sunday afternoon.
The Ravens got off to a lively start with Mike Jones firing over and Orlando Smith shooting wide, but Cray then came right back into things and went close through Tyrone Sterling and Danny Phillips. Debutant Ibra Sekajja had a shot saved by Andy Walker before Bromley took the lead on 29mins when Joe Dolan headed home a corner at the far post.
Arron Rhule went close soon after and Sekajja hit the post after good work by Smith in a far more positive showing from a Bromley side than in recent times.
Sadly for Mark Goldberg’s side it didn’t last into the second half, which Cray dominated. On 56misn Lewis Perkins’ long shot came back off the bar only for Michael Power to score the rebound past Paul Agu to make it 1-1.
Phillips was denied by Agu soon after before The Wands took the lead on 67mins when Alex Bentley crossed for Perkins to head home.
Late on Cray bought on an actor to help out with footage for a film being shot around the club, but it was hard to tell who was impersonating a footballer and who was actually getting paid for it out there.
A comfortable win in the end for Ian Jenkins’ side and a ninth consecutive loss for Bromley who are now out of every cup competition they enter and just faced with grim relegation battle.
